Go tswa ko ga Lowe
LOWE — also written Loê — carries a Setswana sense of the place of origin.
The phrase “go tswa ko ga Lowe” is used to describe something that has been since the beginning of time: from the first place, from the source. It is a way of pointing back to where things — and people — come from.
We took that as a working brief rather than a slogan. Our pieces use materials that have been worked by hand on this continent for generations: rattan, cane, natural grasses, timber. The forms are familiar — the low woven chair, the lidded basket, the pendant that filters light — drawn with a restrained, contemporary line so they sit easily in a modern South African home.
Nothing here is mass produced. Each piece is woven to order, which is why the standard lead time is 2–4 weeks. That slowness is the point: it keeps the work in human hands and it means the piece that arrives was made for you, not pulled off a pallet.
Craft
Frames are shaped, then the weave is built by hand, row by row. Tension, tone and grain vary between pieces — the honest fingerprint of hand work rather than a defect.
Materials
We work with natural rattan, cane and grasses in their unbleached state. We describe only what we can verify: no invented certifications, no borrowed claims.
Made to order
Pieces are made once you order them, in 2–4 weeks. Making to order means less waste, no dead stock, and room for you to ask questions before we begin.

On sustainability, carefully said
We prefer natural, renewable fibres and we make to order so that we don't produce what nobody has asked for. We are not going to claim third-party certification or carbon figures we cannot show you. If you'd like to know how a particular piece was made or what it's made of, ask us and we'll answer plainly.
